UNICEF Kenya is offering an internship placement within its Child Protection Programme based at the UN Complex in Gigiri, Nairobi, for graduate students committed to advancing children's rights. The intern will support data compilation for child-protection monitoring reports, assist with organising documentation for partner-implemented programmes, and help prepare materials for internal and donor briefings. Other responsibilities include supporting literature reviews on child-protection policy issues, assisting with logistics for stakeholder meetings and workshops, and observing coordination sessions with government and civil-society partners working on child welfare. This attachment provides valuable exposure to how a major UN agency designs, monitors and reports on programmes addressing child protection, education and welfare across Kenya. It is well suited to graduate students pursuing social work, international development, law, human rights or public policy who seek a foundation for a career in the UN or broader development sector. Interns are required to maintain strict confidentiality given the sensitive nature of child-protection case information and must adhere to UNICEF's child-safeguarding policy throughout the placement. On completion, interns receive an official UNICEF certificate of internship and a supervisor's performance evaluation.
