The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is offering an internship programme within its Domestic Taxes Department at Times Tower, Nairobi, for graduates seeking exposure to public revenue administration. Interns will support basic taxpayer registration verification, assist with filing and organisation of compliance records, help compile statistical summaries for internal reporting, and observe taxpayer education and outreach activities conducted by the department. The role also includes shadowing tax officers during basic return-processing tasks and supporting digitisation of paper-based records into KRA's electronic systems. This attachment provides a rare opportunity for graduates in accounting, economics, law, finance, business administration, or a related field to understand Kenya's tax administration framework, e-filing systems and revenue-collection processes from within. Interns are required to observe the highest level of confidentiality given the sensitive nature of taxpayer information handled during the programme, and must sign a confidentiality undertaking prior to placement. Successful candidates will be mentored by experienced revenue officers, participate in internal orientation sessions on tax law basics, and receive a certificate of completion recognising the specific units and skills covered during their internship period at KRA.
