Kenya Power (KPLC) invites applications from electrical and power engineering students for an industrial attachment within its Technical Services department at Stima Plaza, Nairobi. The attaché will be exposed to network operations support, basic substation inspection routines, assistance with fault-reporting documentation and observation of transformer and metering installation processes, always under the supervision of qualified engineers and technicians. Other responsibilities include supporting the digitisation of technical drawings, helping compile maintenance schedules, and shadowing field teams during routine safety checks in line with utility-sector regulations. This is a highly practical opportunity for students pursuing electrical, electronics or power engineering to understand how a national power utility plans, distributes and maintains electricity supply across the country. Attachés are required to strictly follow occupational health and safety protocols given the nature of high-voltage installations involved. The programme includes basic safety induction, mentorship from senior engineers, and a structured logbook system used to track skills gained. On successful completion, attachés receive an official attachment completion certificate from Kenya Power, which is widely recognised by engineering training institutions across Kenya as fulfilling practical training requirements.
