Britam Holdings is offering an internship within its Actuarial Sciences department at its Upper Hill offices, for students interested in insurance risk modelling and financial mathematics. The intern will support basic data preparation for actuarial valuations, assist actuaries with checking calculations under close supervision, and help organise documentation used in reserving and pricing exercises. Other duties include supporting the compilation of statistical summaries for actuarial reports, assisting with basic model-input verification, and observing actuarial-committee discussions where appropriate. This attachment offers rare, practical exposure to how a leading pan-African financial-services group applies actuarial science to price insurance products, set reserves and manage long-term financial risk. It is well suited to students pursuing actuarial science, statistics, mathematics or a related quantitative field who are progressing through professional actuarial examinations. Interns will work under the mentorship of qualified actuaries, receive orientation on the group's actuarial modelling standards and confidentiality requirements, and are required to handle sensitive policyholder data with strict discretion throughout the placement. On successful completion, interns receive a formal attachment certificate recognising the actuarial competencies gained during the programme at Britam Holdings.
