The intern will support the review of basic policy-application documentation, assist underwriters with data entry for risk-rating calculations under supervision, and help organise records used in policy-renewal processing. Other responsibilities include supporting the compilation of underwriting-statistics summaries, assisting with preparation of policy documentation for clients, and observing risk-assessment discussions where appropriate. This attachment offers valuable, practical exposure to how a leading regional insurer evaluates and prices risk across life, general and medical insurance products. It is well suited to students pursuing insurance, actuarial science, finance or risk management who wish to build a foundation in underwriting practice. Interns will work under the mentorship of experienced underwriters, receive orientation on the company's underwriting guidelines and confidentiality requirements, and are required to handle client and medical information with strict discretion throughout the placement. On successful completion, interns receive a formal attachment certificate recognising the underwriting competencies gained during the programme at Jubilee Insurance.
