Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) is Kenya's second national referral and teaching hospital, based in Eldoret, providing specialist outpatient, inpatient, teaching, research and emergency medical services. The ICT / HMIS Support Attachee attachment sits within the ICT & Health Information Systems Department, where the attachee will support the hospital management information system (HMIS), assist with troubleshooting computer and network issues, and help with digitisation of patient records, working alongside experienced staff and gaining hands-on, supervised exposure to how the organization runs on a day-to-day basis. The organization expects the attachee to observe workplace professionalism, punctuality, confidentiality and a willingness to learn, and in turn commits to providing supervision, an orientation to relevant systems and procedures, and constructive feedback throughout the attachment period. Attachees who perform well may be considered for short-term casual assignments, be given a strong reference letter for future employment, and, in select cases, be considered ahead of external applicants should a suitable entry-level vacancy arise within the department after the attachment period.
