Nation Media Group is offering an internship within its Digital Journalism & Content department at its Nairobi CBD newsroom, for students interested in journalism and digital media production. The intern will support research and fact-checking for digital news stories under editorial supervision, assist with basic content formatting for online platforms, and help monitor audience engagement metrics on published content. Other duties include supporting the compilation of story leads from press releases and public sources, assisting with basic photo and video content organisation, and observing editorial-planning meetings where appropriate. This attachment offers valuable, practical exposure to how East Africa's leading media house produces trusted news content across print, digital and broadcast platforms under tight daily deadlines. It is well suited to students pursuing journalism, mass communication, digital media or communications who wish to build a portfolio of published work and newsroom experience. Interns will work under the mentorship of experienced editors and reporters, receive orientation on the group's editorial standards and ethics policy, and are required to observe journalistic accuracy and confidentiality of sources throughout the placement. On successful completion, interns receive a formal attachment certificate recognising the journalism and content-production competencies gained during the programme.
